Welcome to the website of Newark Police Superior Officers’ Association of the Newark, NJ Police Department.
Our association represents members in the ranks of sergeant, lieutenant and captain of The Newark, NJ Police Department, the largest municipal police department in the State of New Jersey.
As president of the largest municipal superior officers association in the State of New Jersey, I have a duty to ensure that the concept of “fundamental fairness” is applied to all of our members and that all members are represented fairly. We are the finest leaders, managing and supervising the finest police officers in the world. Hence, our motto “To Lead and Serve”.

The Newark Police Superior Officers’ Association is a professional association and is the exclusive bargaining unit of police supervisors and managers of the Newark, NJ Police Department, representing Sergeants, Lieutenants and Captains.
The Newark Police Superior Officers’ Association was established in 1914. The Association is one of the oldest law enforcement bargaining units in the State of New Jersey and in The United States. The Association is also, the largest municipal superior officers association in the State of New Jersey representing approximately 275 active members. Our motto is “To Lead and Serve”. The Association is an advocate for it’s membership.

The mission of the Newark Police Superior Officers’ Association is to defend and represent its’ members, to enforce the collective bargaining agreement, and to enhance the health, safety, and welfare of its membership.

The vision of The Newark Police Superior Officers’ Association is to be the preeminent superior officers’ law enforcement collective bargaining unit by representing the Best Police Supervisors and Managers in The State of New Jersey and in The United States.
